5 Dessert Recipes for the Festive Season

  • Gajar Halwa


Ingredients: Ghee
Grated carrot-1 cup
Milk
Sugar
Khoya
Cardamom powder
Nuts and raisins
Method:
Heat ghee in a microwave safe bowl and microwave on high for 15 seconds in a microwave convection oven. Add the grated carrot, mix well and microwave on high for 2 minutes. Now, add milk, sugar, khoya and mix well. Heat it on high for 12 minutes and keep stirring in every 2 minutes interval. Sprinkle cardamom powder and top the halwa with nuts and raisins of your choice.

  • Coconut Barfi


    Ingredients:
    Ghee
    Mava
    Milk
    Saffron
    Grated coconut
    Powdered sugar
    Lemon food colour 
Method:
Combine ghee and coconut in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high for a minute in a convection microwave oven. Add some powdered sugar, mix well and microwave on high for 2 minutes, while stirring once in between. Add the mava, milk, saffron and lemon food colour, mix well and microwave on high for 2 minutes. Transfer the mixture into a greased tin and spread it evenly. Refrigerate for at least an hour. When done, cut into equal pieces and serve chilled.

  • Til Ke Laddoo 


    Ingredients:
    Sesame seeds
    Ghee
    Jaggery
    Fruit salt
    Peanuts
    Cardamom Powder
Method:
Put some sesame seeds in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high for 3 minutes. Add ghee in a bowl and heat for 30 seconds. Add jaggery and fruit salt to it and microwave on high for 2 minutes, while stirring once in between. Add some peanuts and cardamom powder, mix well and microwave on high for 30 seconds. Cool for 1 minute, wet your palms with water droplets and shape each portion of the mixture into a round. Cool completely and store in an air-tight container.

  • Eggless Vanilla Sponge Cake



    Ingredients:
    ButterCurd
    Baking soda
    Plain flour
    Vanilla essence
    Greaseproof paper
Method:
Grease a microwave safe dish with butter. Line it with a piece of greaseproof paper, powder with some flour and keep aside. Now, add curd and baking soda in a bowl, mix well and keep aside. Mix butter, sugar and ¼ cup of hot water in another bowl and whisk well. Mix the curd-baking soda mixture, plain flour-baking powder mixture and vanilla essence and whip it to a smooth batter. Pour the batter in a dish and microwave for 4 minutes in a microwave convection oven. After 4 minutes, take it out and let it cool. After 5 minutes, demould it.


  • Apple Kheer



    Ingredients:
    Diced applesWater
    Milk
    Corn flour
    Nutmeg powder
    Cardamom powder
Method:
Combine the apples, sugar and 2 tbsp. of water in a microwave safe bowl, mix well and cook on a high flame for 2 minutes. Add milk and corn flour in a large bowl, mix well and microwave on high for 5 minutes, stir once after 3 minutes. Now, add to it the apple-sugar mixture, mix well and a microwave on high for a minute. Sprinkle some cardamom powder & nutmeg powder and mix well. Refrigerate for an hour and serve chilled.
